Another confirmation that Montenegro is an attractive tourist destination for the foreign media is the visit of the team from the famous production company “Pilot Film and Television Productions LTD” that stayed in Montenegro from August 3 to August 8 of this year. This production company recorded two promotional documentaries for the serial “Globe Trekker” and “Treks in a Wild World”, which will be broadcasted through the most influential global TV channels.

This highly viewed serial shows the beauty and diversity of the countries, traditional and contemporary culture of each place, encourages tourists to discover various parts of the world and, first of all, represent an educational and informative tourism documentary. During the month of July of this year the producers of this serial have visited various locations and decided to record some of the most beautiful Montenegrin landscapes through various forms of active sports, such as scuba-diving, cycling, hiking, rafting, etc. Special emphasis in those documentaries is given to the promotion of the inland parts of Montenegro. UNDP engagement in the north, primarily through the activities of the Western Balkans Environmental Program in the Mojkovac municipality regarding the promotion of the north and economic revitalization through the support to tourism development and environmental protection, has resulted in the establishment of cooperation regarding the development of these shows. Thus, a team of cameramen recorded scuba-diving in the Kotor Bay and then moved to the Mojkovac municipality to record mountain biking in the Sinjajevina mountain, organized by the local tourism organization in Mojkovac and UNDP, then, rafting down the Tara Canyon, Zabojsko Lake, horse racing organized especially for this prupose, and the traditional Montenegrin dance called “oro”, etc. Globe Trekker is broadcasted in over 40 countries, through the following channels: Channel 4, BBC, LWT, Travel Channel, Discovery International, PBS in USA, OLN In Canada, ABC in Australia and other satellite and cable channels, including Voyage & France 5 in France, Mediaset in Italy, NRK in Norway, Denmark Radio TV in Denmark and TVE in Spain. This show has over 30 million viewers and has won over 20 international TV awards. The serial Treks in a Wild World is broadcasted on the National Geographic channel.
