Putting the Wastewater treatment plant in Mojkovac into operation represents the completion of the first phase of works on the project titled "Remediation and Recultivation of the Mojkovac lead and zinc TMI". Construction of this modern facility was in part financed by the Government of Netherlands. The Waste water treatment plant in Mojkovac is a processing facility with most advanced processing technologies in Montenegro and with capacity satisfying the needs of municipality for the next 15 years.

 

The start of operation of the Wastewater treatment plant in Mojkovac represents the completion of the first phase of works on the project "Remediation and Recultivation of the Mojkovac Lead and Zinc TMI". The construction of this modern facility was in part financed by the Government of Netherlands. Wastewater treatment plant in Mojkovac is a processing facility with most advanced processing technologies in Montenegro and with capacity the satisfies the needs of the municipality for the next 15 years.

The second phase for the realization of project "Remediation and Recultivation of the Mojkovac Lead and Zinc TMI" is in progress.

In the period from contract signing on September 19, 2008 to  November 20, 2008, the contracted company  performed part of two planned activities set forth by the tender and Technical Design Project for the "Remediation and Recultivation of the Mojkovac Lead and Zinc TMI":

- Excavation of muddy material using excavation equipment with transportation to collection basket, mixing with additive (hydration lime), transport and disposal at temporary disposal location and, when the process of solidification is completed, restitution of material to the area from which material was excavated. 

- Excavation of free dry material with: push towing, loading, transportation, unloading, spreading, fine placing of filing material for crater on TMI, in order to fine place material and achieve planed and projected  geometry of TMI.

Activities are executed in accordance with the Technical Design Project.

The delivered works in the period from contract signing until November 20, 2008 were financed by the Government of Netherlands in the amount of 504,952.63 USD.

The supervision of all contracted works has been constantly followed by the operation services of the Directorate for Public Works whereas technical support has been provided by UNDP.
