Phase I of remediation activities

Clean up component of project "Remediation and recultivation of the Mojkovac lead and zinc tailings mine impoundment" is focused primarily on the environmental remediation work. Activities are devided in two phases.

Through the UNDP Country Office Montenegro, the Government of the Netherlands financed part of the works on Phase I of project in amount of USD 360,230.55.

These funds where used to finance the following works:

a) earth works at access road and internal traffic communications;

b) concrete works for regulation of Juskovica stream;

c) concrete works for structure construction for compressors of low pressure, treatment of the mud, command room, laboratory and study;

d) works for construction of concrete barrier slope lining, above which supply pipeline of waste water up to treatment plant will be laid; and

e) works on electro - energetic cable laying.

The works listed are part of activities related to construction of wastewaters treatment plant of Mojkovac, and to construct this facility the Agency for Public Works contracted the construction company YU BRIV from Kotor, Montenegro. Contracted value of this works is USD 2.114.020,00 and donor funds contributed with $360,230.55 USD toward the overall value of the works, as was noted above.
